THANK YOU BODY

I’m so grateful body mine
You know just what to do
Serving me at every time
Yourself you can renew
The cells, they talk together
Through hormones in the blood
Which is warm in any weather
Life essence through me flood
Never ceasing to amaze me
Even when I’m sick
I realize the necessity
Invaders from thee kick
When I get out of the way
You know just what to eat
When I rest and work and play
Then you feel complete
With what wonder are you made
So many living layers
A bone, and muscle and skin braid
Through you I give my prayers
Dear organs, working day and night
What payment can I give
Your happiness is my delight
My life we two shall live
Liver, kidney, blessed heart
You all know what to do
Spleen and brain, oh every part
I really love you true
And when you’re feeling all at peace
All nurtured and well fed
Then from you I feel release
Yet ever with you wed
My body is the universe
A micro, macro game
I am thee, and the reverse
We’re two and yet the same
And so I bless you gracious steed
Long together may we serve
A wondrous being, from tiny seed
May you receive all you deserve

SPACE

I gaze into the midnight sky
So many stars I see
Who can know the how and why?
Of cosmic galaxy

Does time and space have an end?
My world is oh so small
A thought of awe and wonder send
A message to the All

Of consciousness all is made
Empty space does not exist
From pure Love without shade
Of this it does consist

Energy and life force
Condensed or spread apart
Within each part dwells the source
There is no end or start

The being who ensouls the sun
An average star, they say
Shall a galaxy become
For that is nature’s way

Beyond the universe AM I
Transcend all finite form
Yet answer every child’s cry
And make all Life reborn

In quasars AM I singing
In pulsars do I shine
In wedding bells I’m ringing
Everything’s divine

Perfection that I AM

How can I accept myself
For all the wrongs I’ve done
How can I find the peace
And feel not two but one
The more I try the more I fail
And soon failure I expect
In self fulfilling prophecy
That’s exactly what I get
But maybe the perfection that
I know that I can be
Isn’t found in outer world
But just alone in me
The cherishment I’ve craved for
From family, friends or food
Can never fill my loneliness
Or forever lift my mood
What if I first love myself
Knowing God is on my side
And let go all my worries
That in peace I might abide
And hear that still, unspoken voice
That thunders in my heart
It’s not what you say or what you do
You’re loved for what thou art
For once upon a mountain
A brave and humble man
Asked God what his name was
The reply, “I AM That I AM.”
What if that I AM in me
That has given me a Self
Is like that burning bush of old
Put your self doubt on the shelf
Tell them I AM, he hath sent you
For those who don’t believe
And that God in you is able
To meet your every need
Now I can be all satisfied
As grateful as I can
For in truth I’m really one
With God, the Great I AM.

OMNIPRESENT AIR

We see the trees a swaying
In the gentle breeze
The swooping of the robin
The very soul is pleased
But something that is unseen
Lies underneath the scene
‘Tis not the branch that moveth
But the space that’s in between
The things, they draw attention
Seeing not the air around
Is not this also substance
But never as renowned
This nothing some have called the Tao
The source behind all flow
Directly may be experienced
But never really known
The wind that drives the tempest
Or floats the feather down
Could this all be a symbol of
The Spirit all around
When the mind is silent
An empty windless sky
No separate forms there seem to be
But a glimmer of the Why
Enter in this sacred space
Perceive, but do not name
Be the Oneness, beyond all form
You’ve just begun the Game

Into the World

All was dark and peaceful
The thumping was my time
Waking, floating, dreaming
Not yet was me or mine
But once there was a pressure
A squeezing from behind
My muffled liquid ruptured
The light near made be blind
Was then I screamed with all my might
And inbreathed my first air
And felt a flame burn in my heart
A caress on my hair
A hush, then ooh and ahh was heard
“Indeed it is a boy”
‘Tis cold, then my first big warm hug
And this nipple my first toy
Then they cut my lifeline
Through belly drink I breathed
Hunger felt for the first time
I knew what to do it seemed
I opened wide my grasping lips
And sucked with all my might
So sweet and warm with tenderness
Seemed like nectar liquid light
Occasionally I looked around
A voice or two I knew
But drink and sleep and pee and poo
Was mainly what I’d do
Between two worlds I came and went
When they thought me sleeping sound
‘Twas then I was truly awake
My heaven home I found
“Your’re perfect” my dear angel said
And I pray you won’t forget
You descend for holy purpose
And time enough you’ll get
Then a feeling lower down
Some burning and some sound
Oh yes again the infant form
“What is it, mamma frowned”
Though I spoke so plainly
My voice seemed but coo or cry
Soon they figured out my needs
And I knew that I’d get by
When angel or a master
Would visit by my crib
My face alight with happiness
And drool upon my bib
But no others saw my friends of old
Yet they seemed to like me smile
And so I switched between two worlds
At least for a little while
Sleeping less, and more awake
On knees I could now roam
These servants answer all my cries
And soon this was my home
Noise and color everywhere
The different shapes had names
Daddy’s face would come and go
Flying was my favorite game
I still talked with elves and saints
That God to me did send
But was told I liked to make believe
And they scoffed my subtle friends
Soon the outer senses
Became my only world
So much to learn and see and say
I was my face and curls
Cute and good and bad was I
My identity my name
“No” I heard now more and more
“Too messy” were my games
Mommy’s belly swelled again
Was a sister said my dream
And so it was, a baby came
For the first time “I was mean.”
No words had I then to describe
But feelings boiled and seethed
They’d fret over every baby cry
Suddenly I was never seen
“I’m here!” I’d say in many ways
“Shush! She’s sleeping,” would they snarl
But if I cleaned or quiet stayed
Then I was “good” and was a marvel.
I can’t recall too much from then
But three more babies came
I was mommy’s little helper
They’d confuse up all our names

INNER TRUTH

O truth how shall I find thee?
No two seem to agree
The errors seem to bind me
All I want is to be free
I’ve searched in churches many
Read a multitude of books
But still have not found any
That haven’t any hooks
But when I close my eyes and pray
There’ a burning in my heart
I feel that flame will light my way
From there my journey starts
First I feel pure wisdom
Golden thoughts of light
Of my mind I take dominion
That I may do what’s right
Then I’m charged with power
Blue lightning blazing through
God’s will I’ll do each hour
His purposes so true
At last I’m filled with only love
Pink fragrant rose of bliss
I’ll make this world like that above
And heal all that’s amiss
With purity of motive
Determined to do good
My life shining like a votive
I’ll do exactly what God would
So finally I feel at peace
All of life’s my very friend
The sense of doubt of fear released
My torn soul is on the mend

INFINITE BECOMING

Life exists in all dimensions
Beyond all human sight
It is one, no division
Will you shine in the night?

Then cast off all your concepts
Admit you don’t know snuff
Go beyond the outer precepts
See past accumulated stuff

I AM the life within you
That beats your very heart
Made your shining Earth, so blue
And planned it from the start

That you could have a place to live
And stretch your heart and mind
To learn that all must give
And serve and to be kind

First the center of one form
Then a family
And on and on to be reborn
The heart of galaxy

You ask, is there an end?
This becoming, all the time
The answer: to transcend
Be one – spirit, soul and mind

GOD IN NATURE

O God in all of nature
How beautiful thou art
Perfect in every creature
As intended from the start

We as co-creators
Helped life to form and name
And came to Earth to aid her
To bring blessing was our aim

To be masters of our feeling
Our every deed and thought
These desires were appealing
Before in our own web we were caught

But slowly gave we power
Unto that which we helped create
And now we fear and cower
Before that which we ourselved did make

Our soul with outer cover
So we could better function here
A gift from Divine Mother
To live in these dense spheres

Yet still nature does obey us
But we forgot how to command
Now we rule unconscious
With no bridle in our hand

Hatred, fear and worry
Sadness, remorse and grief
We’ve stamped upon pure energy
And now we seek relief

For it goes beyond our forcefield
Meeting more like unto itself
With that power we always wield
Burdening fish and tree and elf

And when this energy in mass
Nature can no longer bear
Upon our heads it does come crash
“An act of God” we do declare

Forgive our wrong desires
That we never meant to be
Spurring flood, cyclone and fires
We wish all nature to be free

We take dominion over earth
This body that we wear
Sending thought that has some worth
For all life we would now care

Be it an elephant or ant
However great or small
Erase from us the words, I can’t
And through us please help all

Thank you God for living
In such beauty all around
All our errors now forgiving
That we might make you proud

GLOW BUG

A pleasure of great height
Enraptures me around
A fragrance of a wild flower
Doth my soul astound
A little light of lightning bug
Aglowing in my hand
I put it on a flower
That now seems oh so grand
Then I gaze above my head
And see a glowing star
It seems just like that little bug
Just huge and yet so far
One day that star shall be done
And this insect sooner still
More passing even this silent night
And day shall dawn a new
Another star shall light the day
So close, we call it sun
Enjoy the life that it imparts
Come on, let have some fun
Now like a child in the now
No time there seems to be
Just one life everywhere
My feeling is so free
